Job
Description Summary: Under the
direction of the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for performing a
variety of accounting assignments including accounts payable, accounts
receivable, banking and payroll processing. Also assists in the preparation of
internal and external reporting. This position involves access to and protection
of confidential information
**Candidates
under consideration will be required to participate in an assessment process
consisting of any/all of the following: interview, language abilities, and
computer testing.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
·
Knowledge of
accounts payable and accounts receivable accounting cycle;
·
Knowledge of
payroll processing, applicable federal and provincial payroll legislation and
payroll reporting requirements;
·
Proven
ability to use computerized accounting software such as ACCPAC is required;
·
Proficient
with Excel and Microsoft Office;
·
High degree
of accuracy and attention to detail is required;
·
Ability to
manage priorities, complete work in a timely manner and meet deadlines;
·
Excellent
written and verbal communication skills. Fluent and literate in English; able
to read and interpret regulations, guidelines and instructions;
·
Exceptional
organizational skills; ability to maintain financial, accounting and payroll
records;
·
Ability to
work independently and as a member of a team;
·
Good
judgment and high degree of integrity; able to maintain confidentiality;
·
Demonstrated
ability to follow policies and procedures.
Education
and Experience
·
Graduate of
a two year post-secondary accounting program with 1 year bookkeeping
experience, OR
·
Completion
of one year post-secondary accounting training; completion of Introductory
Accounting I and II and minimum one year of relevant accounting experience in a
computerized environment, OR
·
3 years or
more experience in computerized bookkeeping will be considered.
·
Minimum 1
year experience with ACCPAC; or computerized accounting systems.
·
Enrollment in the Canadian
Payroll Association certificate program would be considered an asset.
Required
Licenses and/or Certificates
·
Canadian Police Information Center (CPIC)
certification - no criminal record (includes Vulnerable Sector Search) must be
done within last 3 months.
